A leather-bound "blank book" lays carelessly on the floor next to a large over-stuffed pack. The name Kaylindra du Rylath is inscribed on the cover in magical silver letters. Several pages in the front of the book are either torn out or illegible.

Quel'Thalas. So different from when I left. It makes me sad to see all the destruction left by Arthas and the Amani. We've always had problems with the Amani. But Arthas. Different story.

I found Father. He has a small apartment in Silvermoon now. He told me Mother and the babies died. He said he sent them away from the city when Arthas came. Just like he asked me to run and save myself. I thought Mother would be safe.

I don't know whether my aunts and uncles survived the war. I stayed away until I heard that they were trying to rebuild Silvermoon. Strangely enough, I felt more than heard about the destruction of the Sunwell. Oh, the Sunwell! It was so beautiful. I'd actually seen it only once, but the beauty of it has been etched into my memory.

I need to tell Father that I plan to be a Ranger. I have no idea how he's going to take it.

((Please excuse the multiple postings on one day. I hadn't decided to write this until recently.))

Today, I made an extra-long journey. For an owl. I started with a dragonhawk, but I really wanted a real bird. It took a very long time and a lot of visits to the spirit healer, but I am the proud owner of an owl. He's very pretty and his feathers are very soft. For fun, I named him Hooters because he hoots so much.

To get this wonderful bird, I had to go all the way to Kaldorei lands! It was not a very nice journey having to deal with those Kaldorei, but I did manage to get what I wanted.

What an interesting evening I just had! After a long day of hunting and skinning, I took Hooters and headed for the local tavern for a bit of rest and a drink. I put Hooters in the aviary and went in. I saw two other elves there. I ordered drinks and sat down at a table not far from the other elves. I heard them talking and couldn't help but listen in.

When they mentioned "House Rylath" I went crazy inside. "House" Rylath? We hadn't much of a House before. I couldn't help myself and made a comment about it. I introduced myself and found that I was speaking to the Senechal, Shandahr Dawncarver. The other elf was Lord Avverone Tress, a vassal to the House. Shandahr told me about my cousin Alahandro taking charge and of a meeting of the House that was to take place soon. I will write to Father about this as soon as I have finished this entry.

As we sat around and talked, a rather handsome Blood Knight came in and sat down with the others. He seemed to know them fairly well. They introduced me to this Knight. His name is Sir Achamas Duskwalker. Not only is he handsome, but he is very friendly as well. He mentioned something about the Blacksuns as well. I know all the rumors regarding that House. I had no real idea what he was talking about in relation to them. I was busying myself with my leatherworking at that time so it didn't seem that I was prying into anyone's business.

I hope I see that Knight again soon.

((Here are at least 2 more entries that should have been posted earlier))

This evening, I attended a House meeting. I arrived at the meeting-place a bit early. Luckily, the first to arrive was Alahandro. when I saw him, I recognized him at once. he hadn't changed at all even after all these years! The funny thing was that he didn't recognize me right away. As others arrived, he proudly introduced me to them.

And, I saw Sir Achamas again. He arrived a bit late, but was looking as handsome as ever.

This week, instead of a formal meeting of the House, we met in Thunder Bluff so we could all go to the Darkmoon Faire. I had bought a new dress just for the occasion. I was hoping Sir Achamas would be coming. Shortly after I arrived and put Hooters in the stable, he did arrive. Oh, he looked so handsome!

Once everyone arrived, we all walked down to the Faire. I had no idea how much fun it was going to be! I had Darkmoon Special Reserve for the first time. It has some kind of kick to it. Wow! And, I got my fortune told. It wasn't all that exciting. I don't know if that Sayge character really knows what he's talking about.

When the party was breaking up, I mentioned in passing that I was thinking of getting my hair done. Well, Sir Achamas surprised me by saying that he would accompany me to Orgrimmar, since that was the closest barber shop.

When we arrived, Sir Achamas decided to get something done to his hair as well. I had the Goblin woman take my hair down and style it. It was lovely! I paid and waited for my escort. When he emerged, he looked even more handsome than before!

We decided to take a walk through Orgrimmar since it was the cool of the evening and not the heat of the day. We stopped by the lake in the Valley of Honor and sit by the water's edge. I just love lakes, streams, and oceans. We talked for a long time. Then, to my delight, he kissed me for the very first time. I am so very, very happy!

((This entry is on-date as will all others be beyond it.))

So much has happened and I have been remiss in writing. I see that when I last wrote, Achamas had kissed me for the first time. Oh, so much since then!

One evening, I decided that I was going to send Achamas on a "hunt" for me. I set things up with Innkeepers (not without paying a sum to them) so that I left a note with a clue for Achamas to either find the next clue or me. Ha! I was waiting for him in Booty Bay. I knew that it would be fun for him to try to find me. Indeed, he did find me. But, I write about that evening not because of the fun of the hunt, but because that was the night he told me he loved me. That made me so happy because then I could tell him that I loved him, too.

Then, last evening, we had a lovely Noblegarden party with the House. We hunted eggs, got turned into bunnies, and got fabulous new clothes. I got a gorgeous new pink dress! I thought it was very pretty. Of course, my opinion doesn't matter nearly as much as Achamas'. He said it was "stunning". Perfect!

We welcomed two new people into the House. One, a former serving girl of the Firesong family, named Kitherit. She's so very shy and submissive from being a serving girl. I hope that she can manage to come out of her shell sooner or later. The other new elf is a blacksmith who pledged his loyalty to the House. His name is Alton'fein. I don't know him very well yet, but he seems like he will be loyal and true.

When we were about done with the party, Achamas took me to his family's islands. I had been curious about them before, but didn't really want to bring any bad thoughts to him or us, as the case may be. However, he seemed anxious to show me around so that I could see what was now his. I realize that he is trying to bring his enterprises back to legitimacy. For that, I am grateful. The manor house is very large and rather ostentatious, but it doesn't really matter. As long as he is with me, I don't really care where I am.

Oh! Last night was so wonderful! I know I'm going to have trouble putting it all into words, but I want to record it. I helped Achamas with showing his orphan the sights. Once we returned his orphan to Orgimmar, we decided that it would be nice to go back to Silvermoon to spend some time alone in his apartments. We went back to Silvermoon and had some wonderful private time together. Achamas insisted that he finish up on his paperwork so that he wouldn't need to mess with it much anymore. He sat down at the desk and I thought that it was time that I helped with it. He had me look at a couple of ledgers. Oh, were they ever boring! I never imagined that his paperwork was so incredibly boring! The good thing is that I now know the kinds of ventures the Blacksun family was involved in. I don't want to go into detail because if for some strange reason this book were ever to come into the wrong hands it could get us both into trouble!

I think one of the best things that came out of our evening was the fact that Achamas told me that he wants to spend a VERY large amount of his life with me. I couldn't believe it. It was all said in what you'd think of as a normal conversation. No overt declarations or anything. Just saying things more casually. Of course, I told him that I felt the same way. Or was it the other way around? Gee! It doesn't really matter, does it? Ha! He even asked me to help him make a decision about the family businesses.

Once we were done with the ledgers (Ick!), we spent the rest of the night together....

Father is ill. I don't know how. I don't know what with. The Rylath physician won't say much. Let me back up just a bit. Since Achamas and I were already in Silvermoon, I decided to go visit Father at the Rylath estate. When I arrived, I was shocked to see Father's state! I had visited not too long ago and he was fine. While I was visiting, Father said that Feyla had told him about me and "Young Duskwalker" as he put it. I'm grateful she didn't tell him that Achamas is Lord Blacksun or he would have had an apoplexy!

Troubled as I was, I went back to the apartment. I found Achamas reading. Not surprising since he has his own House to run. Just seeing him there made me feel better. I know that no matter what happens he will be there to comfort me.I told him what was going on with Father and he suggested that we go visit him together very soon.

When I felt a little better about all that, I asked Achamas to teach me how to give a massage. I know that not only have I received them, but I want to how to help him if he needs me. He made an explanation how to start, but I had to have a demonstration. Oh, I got a demonstration all right! He worked my shoulders and found some tension. No surprise really since Father had troubled me so. The knots came out under his expert touch. And, everyone knows what happens when elves in love give a massage....

Monday evening, we had our usual House meeting. They discussed Ayrinne Tress and what she was going to do about her problems with the Royal Apothecary Society. While everyone discussed this, I stayed close to Achamas as always.

During the meeting, I got bored, so thought about places that Achamas and I could go to spend time together. When I thought of that lovely river and waterfall in Feralas, I told Achamas that's where I wanted to go. He wholeheartedly agreed. Then, I felt anxious for the meeting to end. Most of the time I enjoy our meetings. However, that night, I just wanted to fly out to Feralas with Achamas.

When others had to leave to do duties and what-not, Achamas and I said our good-byes. We went to the flightmaster and got a nice flight to Camp Mojache. It took several minutes, but was nice anyway. Once we arrived at the camp, we got onto our Hawkstriders and rode out to the river that I had told him of. We sat on the shore for awhile talking and holding hands. Since it had been so hot and dusty in Orgrimmar, we decided to take a nice swim in the river. My whole body was covered in a fine layer of dust including my hair. We stripped down and got into the water. It was so nice and cool! I was cold at first, but once I moved around I was okay.

We found a secluded little sandbar behind a waterfall and made some joking bets about "getting loud". One thing led to another, and it made me realize something. I had always been taught that love is a truly special thing, and that I should be truly certain that those I give my heart to are worthy of it. I realized that Achamas is the most worthy man I know, and I can see myself spending the rest of my life with him. That thought hit me like thunder from above, and needless to say he won that bet.

I worry about what he'll ask of me, but at the same time I'm looking forwards to finding out. If he loves me even half as much as I love him, then I've got nothing to fear and everything to gain.

A tear-stained page

So much to report because I've been so remiss in writing. Father died of his "disease". Achamas seemed to think it was poisoning. I tend to agree.

I went away to deal with Father's estate. He had money, which I now hold. Plus, he had somehow managed to keep the deed to our old homestead. I went there and found utter destruction. I was expecting that, since I knew what the Scourge did. I just wasn't expecting to find what I did. I arrived and found the next word is smudged, but somewhat legible bodies. After looking around, I realized that what I had found was my mother and the baby. It was horrid! I don't know how I managed, but I dragged them out of the remains of the house and dug two graves. After they were filled, I laid on top of them just weeping. I made some semblance of a camp at the old house and lived there for months. I found a few things that had some value in the dirt and under broken furniture. Mostly, I sat around crying and trying to figure out what I wanted in my life.

One day, an elf arrived at the house with a message for me from the Rangers. I don't know how the elf found me, but he did. He said my name clearly and then something about the rangers. I crawled out from my tent and greeted him. I took the message, which were orders from the Rangers sending me to Outland. I felt that I was already there with what I was living with. I sent the elf back saying that I would obey the Rangers. So, I went through the Dark Portal to Outland. The Peninsula is a grim place. That's where I arrived, greeted by demons from the Burning Legion. Horrible!

During work with those in Thrallmar, I was ordered to fight some of the Legion. There, I met with a rather mean demon. He was a fire-breather. He more smudges managed to kill Neko. My Neko! My best friend! Oh, Neko, how I miss you!! I avenged you, though. I killed that demon quickly for what he did.

So, more sorrow. The leaders of Thrallmar sent me to Shattrath for awhile so that I could grieve in peace. I still grieve over my poor pet. While there, I discovered the portals back to Azeroth. I went to the Undercity. My hair had grown long while away for so long. I had it styled and dyed black in honor of all that I had been through. While there, I thought of Achamas and all that he had meant to me. I decided that it was time to see him and hope that his love would still be there.

Phah! I was wrong. I went to the inn in Murder Row in Silvermoon where the House normally meets. I saw Achamas, but he seemed so taken aback I scarce knew him. I suspect that another has stolen his heart. He claims he still cares for me, but I think not. With all I have been through to have this shoved in my face. I don't know how much more I can handle. I'll either go crazy or die. I'm not sure which I want. Perhaps, I'll wait to see what he has to offer. Perhaps, I'll draft a letter to those I once cared about.
