Previously, on Hounds...
The seeming solace of Darnassus has proven shortlived, as the Hounds followed King Greymane's orders and headed to the mainland, only to find it wracked by the same cataclysmic tidal forces that sank Duskhaven beneath the waves. In an echo of the disasters in their homeland, the Hounds' first task was rescuing the survivors of a ruined night elven town called Auberdine. Many were beyond their help, but the Hounds still saved all they could.
The elven priestess tending to the wounded then asked the Hounds to help her concoct a healing salve from some mollusks, while a gnome in cahoots with the elves also tasked them with looking into the sources of a contagion plaguing the local wildlife.
As the investigation took them deeper into the woods of the shore, the Hounds stumbled across a chasm ripped into the earth at the convergence of several rivers -- stumbled in a literal sense, as Gavain lost his footing and fell headlong into the whirlpool. The others were quickly swept in after him in a brave rescue attempt, only to discover an ancient evil that dwelt beneath the earth. Shaken but victorious, the Hounds emerged back into the shrouded moonlight of Darkshore, camping in the free air and recovering from their ordeal.Quests for the Next Pacer
Everyone should be finished with the introductory Darkshore quests up through No Accounting for Taste
and have Buzzbox 723
in their quest logs. Exploring beneath the whirlpool in Darkshore is not necessary (it involves a one-off quest and and achievement) but is HIGHLY recommended anyway.
